Strategy

Environmental assessment New Zealand

Effective environmental systems rely on sharp strategy to maximise usually scarce resources, ensure we are targeting the most important problems and that we are able to operate in uncertainty. Having a robust underlying strategy for any environmental programme or intervention (e.g., policy, campaign or conservation project) helps ensure success.

Mātaki can provide support to marshall efforts to best effect, anticipate challenges and roadblocks and overcome them to enhance environmental and community outcomes.

REGULATION

Regulation is a cornerstone of environmental protection, but the design, preparation and delivery of environmental regulation is demanding and complex. With a strong understanding of end-to-end implementation, Mātaki can support all aspects of the cycle of improving public interest outcomes including,

- problem definition and ideation of environmental challenges

- regulatory design and impact analysis

- capability building

- design and delivery of compliance and enforcement programmes

- regulatory performance monitoring and evaluation.
